The laminated finish is tough, weatherproof and can be written on using a non-permanent marker. The main map depicts Manhattan at a scale of 1:17 000 (1cm = 0. 17km) and highlights numerous places of interest. Public buildings, hotels, embassies and parks are clearly marked and a separate subway map is located in a prominent position for ease of use.
